Slurping Soup

Mama prepared this gravy-cum-soup for dinner last Tuesday evening as Papa is in school to attend his evening class and won't be back until about 930pm in the evening. She meant to make a stew with chicken fillet, carrot and potato and some onion. But she decided to leave some of it for Papa to sup on when he is home and she added some pork so that there will be more meat for Papa to eat. As she thought such a combination of ingredients can be made into a soup or a stew, she thought she will do an in-between.

So for dinner last Tuesday, I had white rice with this either-gravy-or-soup stuff. Mama thinks it's a pretty balanced meal as there is meat and vegetables but kind of confusing like it's like neither gravy-nor-soup too. Anyway, I can't tell the difference.

I enjoyed it and towards the end of my dinner, I even left my high chair, sat on Mama's lap and slurped the leftover soup directly from the edge of the bowl. Mama is so surprised and happy that I didn't spill it from my mouth and everything went straight into my mouth. She also felt very proud that I can do this. It's another milestone for me. :)

She then took a little more soup for me so that she can take some pictures. So here I am seen slurping my soup. It's more of an obligation for Mama to take her pictures this time round. Mama is so pleased that she told Papa about it twice when he reached home that day. Mama thinks I am like Papa who likes to drink soup. One thing though, can someone please tell Mama that though I showed that I like this soup last Tuesday, there is no need to cook this every Tuesday? ;p

I can understand Mama!

Nowadays, I am taking my afternoon naps at a later time compared to say, 6 months ago, when I would nap at around 11am. Yesterday afternoon, at around 1220pm or so, Mama tried to settle me down for my nap but she was unable to do so as I was still active. So she said she will let me watch Hi-5 before I nap and I immediately went to the bedroom door and waited for her to open it.

Then, I went straight to the power switch for the TV set. Mama thinks I already knows that the button must be pressed to switch on the tv set. What a smart boy I am! :D

Treasure Hunt

This is a bag of domestic waste but if you look at it a little more carefully, there is a piece of shiny foil with a red logo on it. It is the cube cheese Mama lets me eat to increase my calcium intake. The story behind this foil must be recorded for posterity, Mama thinks.

There was this morning last Thursday when Mama wanted to go and wash up and so she gave me a cube cheese to hold in my hand to keep me occupied while she washes up behind closed door. When she came out, I was actually playing with some DVDs that I had taken down from the top of the TV set (yes, I am tall enough to bring it down already) and the cube cheese was nowhere to be seen.

Mama was afraid that the cheese will rot in some unsuspected corner in the house and so she hunted high and low for it after she gave me my breakfast. Of course, I was unable to tell her where I had left the cheese and so she tried to look at all the surfaces I can reach but she had no success.

And guess where she found it? The rubbish bin!! That's right! She found it in the rubbish bin!! She liked to think it is because I had crushed the cube cheese in my little hands and had reckoned that it is a useles thing and so, into the dustbin it should go. But I proved her wrong because in the same afternoon, I threw a sealed bag of cornflakes and its box into another bin. Sigh, I just don't know any better.

My First Computer Game

Dear all,
This is me, looking at the first computer game that Mama is introducing to me. She figured that since I am so interested to be involved in her computing activities (read : Facebook, Facebook and more Facebook. Ok. she does check emails too), she will let me be part of it. So here is the first computer game Mama is introducing me to. If you are interested, you can play it using the url below. :)

Now that Aunty Cheyanne and Uncle Denton have gone to Dallas and with Papa having long days in his work place (like from morning until around 9pm at night), I will be using the webcam with Mama more often.

I have already used it a couple of times with Aunty Cheyanne and Uncle Denton and once with Papa. Mama thinks eversince I saw Papa on the computer screen via MSN Messenger, I seem to be looking at the screen with some awe in my eyes. So she just introduced me to online computer games. There was once she even taught me how to press the spacebar to play the game.

Well, I can't quite understand how the game works yet but at least there is some animation. But Mama is careful to limit the time I spend on the computer playing this game. A few minutes and no more than that. I think the DVD player with its eject button that can be pressed to bring out the disc holder is more interesting and it is more worthwhile to investigate the relationship between the switch at the wall and the digital displays on the DVD and the VCR. Haha!

Waiting for Grandma

The Monday that just passed, Papa did not have to go to work as it was a public holiday and so Papa and Mama brought me to a dialysis centre to pick up my maternal grandma who is having her dialysis there. Here I am, waiting in the car for grandma to finish her dialysis. :)

See the cheeky look on my face? :)

Garden

Nowadays, Mama brings me downstairs to let me expend my energy more often. On the day she took these pictures, she decided to use a different route to bring me to the fitness corner. But I have my own idea of what I wanted to do. I decided to sit down along the pavement instead and Mama just allowed me to. As she thinks I look very cute and the plants would make a nice back drop, she took these pictures. For your viewing pleasure :)

My New Pose

Last week, I started to stick out my tongue. Mama is not sure if it's because she had sticked hers out at me quite a few times and I had picked up this tongue-sticking act. Or could it be part of my natural development.

Nowadays, I had been hitting my head with my hands as if in frustration and also fiddling my ears more often. Mama is trying to teach me the names of these body parts in Chinese and she would tell the names of these body parts when she sees me touching them. Mama once read that I would need to see/hear the names of these body parts in context 500 times before I can use these words. Do you think I would really need so many repetitions? ;p

A New Playground

Hi all, there is a coffeeshop near my place which sells very good chicken rice. Just outside the coffeeshop, there is a small playground. Last week and yesterday when Mama took me outdoors to expend my energy, she brought me here.

Mama thinks this playground may suit me better as the height is more suitable for me.

The first time I came, I was not very good at coming down the stairs and was coming down in some kind of falling-off-cum jumping way. I would put my foot out to reach the next lower step and then kind of like fell off the current step and landed on the next one. But I didn't really fall off as I was still holding to the bar or Mama's hands.

Yesterday when Mama brought me here, I am much better at coming down the steps on my own already. I can come down pretty comfortably on my own with support from the railings. I sure am developing my gross motorskills very fast. :)
