A New Sunday School

Mama took this picture when she was waiting for me to finish my Sunday school class last Sunday. Papa had decided we will be attending Covenant Evangelical Free Church for the next 2 years. This is me in the class pretending to cook. I also pass some of the food to my teacher who tasted the food. There she is, in orange T-shirt on the right hand side of the picture. Just now, before I slept, I told Mama I want to see "the teacher with orange T-shirt again."

Mama likes to think this means I am looking forward to going Sunday school. Right? :D

(ps : sshh.. don't tell Nai nai about this, ok? :D)

A Small Thanksgiving

Mama would like to end this week with a small thanksgiving. I had been chanting about not going to school as I am still in the adjustment phase of going to school full day from morning til about evening. I had also started to verbalise I wanted to go back to the old school where Teacher Sharon and Madam Chen were.

On Tuesday, when Mama came home from work, she noticed I had stopped saying I do not want to go school. Though I would still burst into tears when Mama carry me to school, at least I had stopped chanting about not going to school. Hurray! :D

Also, it seems Nai nai is beginning to accept that I do have good teachers in my new school.Papa is assured it was the right decision to send me to a full day school with all the many good things I had learnt. Just yesterday, Teacher Karen told Papa I had learnt to hold a pencil and I must practise this skill at home over the weekend. Now, is that supposed to be my homework? ;p

Also, when Papa picked me up from school, I said, "Teacher Yati loves me, Teacher Vanessa loves me. I am very happy" What a heartening thing to hear from me, don't you think so? :D

A Different Christmas

Last Christmas, Papa and Mama had a more happening schedule. It all began on eve of Christmas eve, Friday. We had our dinner at Nai nai's place. I had fun wearing the Santa hat which Nai nai unearthed when she was cleaning her place.

Mama and I spent Christmas eve morning on Fidgets. It has been a long time since we last came here. In fact, Mama thinks we had not been here the whole of 2011. Mama could see I was not extremely excited about this place. I was not in particular mood to be doing the slides again and again but simply spent time enjoying the entire play structure as well as on the machines at the Little Fidgets.

It was perhaps so that explained I had a late nap that day. My parents had prepared to for a Christmas gathering at a chalet in Changi. Mama planned for me to be tired out at Fidgets and take a good nap before we head for Changi. I refused to nap and by about 4pm, they gave up trying to persuade me to nap and prepared to leave for the chalet. The good thing is, I actually took an hour nap in the car when Papa drove. That made me a good and happy boy.

The youth choir came to the chalet at about 9pm for carolling. I stood next to them and tried to join in. Unfortunately, I did not know the lyrics to the carols they were singing and so, much to Mama's embarassment, in a very audible voice, I kept saying they were singing too fast.

On Christmas day, we went to church for a short while before going to Ah Gong and Ah Ma's place for a family gathering. No pictures to show for this one. Mama has probably outgrown the habit of taking pictures to document everything. In the evening, we went to Nai Nai's place for a Xmas feast. Yum....

Mama included the picture above to round up the long Christmas weekend. On Boxing Day, for some reason, I started throwing up at about 12.30pm. In about 2 hours' time, I had thrown up about 3 times and I could not stomach the lunch given to me. As it was a public holiday, the clinics near my place were not opened and so Mama decided to send me to the 24 hour family clinic at Thomson Medical Centre before things got worsened to the point when we had to go KKH A&E.

The above was taken when we were waiting to see a doctor. We waited over an hour before we could see a doctor but Mama was quite happy to wait as there were leather couches for the families who were waiting.  The place was not very noisy and the charges were certainly cheaper compared to the $85 if we had gone to KKH A&E.

I was seen by an Indian doctor who looks very old. My temperature was taken and it was about 37.7 degrees. Hardly a fever my parents would think. However, the doctor said I had a fever and he was right. The following days, my temperature went higher and at certain points, I probably had high fever.

The doctor gave me very good medicine. I had 2 ml of it each time and after the first dose, I was able to stomach a slice of bread.  A few hours later, I kept a bowl of porridge down as well as a small bottle of milk. Papa and Nai nai spent the next few days taking turns to tend to me as Mama had to go to work. A small bonus was that I did not have to go to school because I was sick. Mama noted telling me I need not go to school due to my sickness was a really good way to stop me from chanting. Alas, she could only use this when I was really ill..

Silly-looking Again!

My parents were at it again. Making me look silly and taking pictures of me looking silly. ;p
Have a good laugh! :D

Spelling My Name

About 2 weeks ago, I learnt to spell my name. Now, I can recognise my name in print. Is it any wonder that I like reading about Daniel and the Lions in my toddler's bible? Also, Mama observed in the recent weeks that passed, I had started to nod my head to indicate yes and shook my head to indicate no.

You may be surprised to know before this, I had never done that before. When Mama thinks a little more, yah, it does seem strange that I only start to nod my head to indicate yes at about 45 months old. Mama thinks this is something good that came out of me attending the new school. :D
