My 4th Birthday

This is the first picture Mama took for me on my 4th birthday. Mama thinks the most significant thing that happened on this day was me serving God in the church school as I went around collecting offering. Mama is thankful to God for using me on this day and she hopes I will continue to serve God.  This is me after collecting the offering and soon after this picture was taken, a prayer was said to thank God for the offerings.
After church, we went for breakfast at Amoy Street Hwaker Centre and I finally get to eat half-boiled egg again. The aunty at this coffee stall we usually frequent will make an effort to get the eggs more thoroughly cooked if she knows I am eating them.
Yumm.....I prefer to feed myself. :)
After church, we came home where Papa showered me and helped me take my nap while Mama goes out and bought me a simple cake. Mama decided to have the cake cutting session soon after I woke from my nap we had a late breakfast and I went to nap without lunch. So here we are, having another cake cutting session.

Mama thinks this time round, I probably got to cut the cake a little more deeply compared to the cake 2 days ago when I was just allowed to make a token cut. :) With that, we kind of ended my birthday celebration. I had turned 4 years old! :D

4th Birthday Celebration

Finally, a birthday celebration with my peers! Last year, Mama asked about having a birthday celebration for my with my classmates but the idea was aborted as it seems troublesome to be having a cake in class with quite a few toddlers around who can't sit still. This year, it's a completely different ball game.

So on the Friday just before my actual birthday, my parents and Nai nai turned up at my school after nap time for my birthday celebration. A week or two before this, Nai nai already started to pack my birthday goody bags. 2 days before this, Papa ordered my birthday cake. As for Mama, well, let's just say she turned up and took some pictures. ;)

This is my Teacher Karen helping us set up the birthday cake.
Me and my friends posing for the camera.
Birthday song in English, Mandarin and Malay too. :)
I know not why I look grouchy in this picture.
This is me in action, giving out the goody bags Nai nai had packed for me lovingly.

So with this starts my birthday celebration weekend. Ok, we really did not do anything too special this year except for this celebration with my school friends. :)

Punggol Waterway Again

Yup, as Mama said in her last post, we'll be back and sure enough, we did come back. This time round, it was a Saturday evening after my nap and we did different activities. Alas, my parents still did not learnt the lesson of the skate scooter well and in the end, had to take turns to lug it around again.

No prize for guessing who took my parents' pictures below. I did.

I took the above picture with my back facing a pond and my parents were really afraid I may fall into the pond as I kept reversing myself to get a good picture. In the end, they decided to change position with me and they stood back facing the pond. Hence I took this picture below.
Would had been scary if I fell into the pond behind me and Papa, right? ;p
See the slope behind my parents in the picture above? Soon after taking the picture, we kind of decided to climb up the slope. Papa egged me on and so I did it with him following behind. Not my city-dweller Mama. She rather walk along the pavement. Still these are such precious moments that she decided to capture them.
We have arrived!

We ended the evening by going to Ponggol Point for grocery shopping and took a late dinner before going home.

Punggol Waterway

A few weeks ago, Papa found a new place we could go as a family. It's called Punggol Waterway or something along that line. So off we went together on that Sunday morning. We were not skipping church. You see, there was an outbreak of hand-foot-mouth-disease in my school that week and 2 of the 4 cases in my school were my classmates and so my parents decided to keep me away from church in case I pass the virus to my classmates in church school classes.

Back to the trip. It was rather a little long to walk from where our car was parked and since Mama brought my skate scooter along, I had to scoot. My parents thought it would be a good way for me to expend some energy. Alas, I soon gave up when I reached the bottom of a bridge and my parents had to take turns to lug the scooter along.
See, we had to walk this far , across a meadow before we came to the bridge below.

Me and Papa on the bridge.

Mama knew there was water play and so she brought along change of clothes for me. But she did not prepare any for Papa nor for herself and so I had to play on my own.

It soon became too hot for me (or is it my parents) to be under the hot sun while I played. Noon was drawing near and I was perhaps a little hungry and tired. It did not take much persuasion for me to leave the water play.

This is probably my favourite part of the trip, sharing a can of coke with my parents before we left. Refreshing on a hot day!

Off to car park we will go. Time to get lunch. I was tired and Daddy shouldered me.

We had lunch at Adam Road hawker centre before we went home. We'll be back again! :)

My Car Bed

Last month, papa bought me a car bed. Mama thinks this is one of the greatest proof of Papa's love for me. Instead of using the same amount of money to get himself an iPhone, Papa chose to stick to the current second hand cell phone Nai Nai lent him and spent the equivalent on getting me this bed and the accompanying mattress.

Papa chose this bed frame as the boards at the side will prevent me from rolling off the bed. On the day the bed was delivered, Mama had to work and so Papa cleaned the room and set up the bed for me. Nai nai passed him some clean bedsheets and Papa spread it out on the mattress for me.

That said, I still need time to get used to sleeping in this bed. Whenever possible, Mama will rest with me on this bed until I fall asleep before she returns to her own room. Even now, Mama is still very touched by Papa's sacrificial love for me.
