Potty Training Day #1

For some time, I had been showing some signs that I may be ready for toilet training. I would stop whatever I am doing and bend my knees a little when I am poo-ing. My face will show some expressions of me doing the pushing.

Also, I would pull the tabs off my diaper and remove my diapers when Mama forgot to change them. Mama tried to tell me not to do this as I may end up wetting the floor (which I did on a few occasions) but she also tried not to be hard on me over this as she does not want me to become resistant to removing my diapers when the time comes for me to be start potty training.

Though it may seem strange coming from a man who has very little experience with toddlers, it was actually Papa who advised Mama how to potty train me. The idea is to put me on the potty with my diapers on once we can tell that I am pooing and once I get used to the idea of pooing on the potty with diapers on, Mama will remove the diapers when I am pooing to help me poo in the potty. Sounds good, yah?

But many a times, Mama was resistant to rush for the potty when she sees I am pooing. Perhaps she did not want to cause a commotion over this and stop me from pooing as I wonder what the fuss was all about. So we did not make much progess on this.

I did not got to school for the past few days and Mama thought perhaps this is a good time to start potty-training again. So today after my nap, Mama actually removed my diapers and really spent time watching me with a potty nearby while I go about diaper-less. This was actually good for me as I had been having bad nappy rash for the past 2 days. Airing my bottom will do me good. :)

She wanted to try catching me when I wee and/or poo to show me the idea is to do it in the potty. Well, I did sit on the potty for a short while but nothing was caught in it.

After an hour or so of waiting and spending time with me, she decided to call it a day for my training as she wanted to give me some food. I had not produced any waste for her to catch and so she will try again the next day. She also decided that she will buy me a new potty for my training as the one in the picture has a thick rim and she thinks it's not too useful for catching my urine.
