This is my birthday mee sua. Mama thought she will make me a bowl of mee sua for lunch today though I just had mee sua for lunch yesterday. You see, making mee sua is very convenient. It is as convenient as cooking instant noodles. Mama just have to boil a pot of water, put in some meat or fishballs, the mee sua and some green vegetables and you have a good one dish meal. Yesterday, I had mee sua for convenience and today, it was because of my birthday.
Mama grew up with the idea that one gets to eat mee sua with 2 hardboiled eggs on one's birthday and so she carried on the tradition. For nutrition, she added some spinach. The crab stick was the only processed food Mama added (besides the mee sua) to make this bowl of noodles more savory. She added no salt nor seasoning to the pot of mee sua soup except for a few drops of sesame oil as she still prefers me to take as little salt as possible. The mee sua looks dry, right? So Mama added some soup.

But what I really got was this.

Mama had to remove one of the hard-boiled egg as I simply could not finish all of it. And as I could not really eat very well on my own, she had to cut everything into smaller pieces with a pair of scissors.
I ate about half the quantity served to me, including the spinach and Mama was pretty pleased with the amount I ate. Yes, I ate the spinach too. Mama found out that if green vegetables are finely cut and mixed with some food I like such as egg white and crab sticks in this case, I can actually eat them. And so you can say I am eating my greens selectively. :)
